Leapin' Literature TM

This is a story-telling camp for young learners to leap through literature using the format of Reader's Theatre. Students will enjoy classics and new works in children's literature to act out, role-play and perform. Using story telling techniques for creative engagement of young learners, this camp is designed to be an introduction to early childhood theatre using books and fun.

No memorization or script reading is required.

Ages: 4-6
Time: 9 AM-12 PM
Dates: May 31-June 4
Tuition: $185

Kings, Queens, Pirates & PlayTM

Pre-Theatre camp includes fun, and hands-on theatre experiences such as creative role-playing, story scenes, reader's theatre, puppetry, and singing. All activities are done in a structured free-play environment, and are designed to enhance and inspire imagination through authentic learning activities in the dramatic arts. Perfect for little drama kings and queens who need an artistic outlet to perform with a final "pre-performance" at the week's end.

Puppeteer's ParadiseTM

This program introduces children to a variety of puppets from around the world: marionettes, rod, hand, bunraku, group, and shadow puppets. Workshops focus on bringing characters to life through puppetry performance techniques. The workshop focuses on making puppets, and students will also perform an original puppet skit in a "Puppet Parade" on the last day of the workshop.

Time: 1-4 PM
Dates: June 14-18
Tuition: $185 (includes supplies)

Fairy Tale Theatre CampTM

Come to the land of castles and unicorns, dragons, and make-believe. Play pretend as a princess, knight, fairy, gnome, wizard, king or court jester, and join the imagination station at the Old Michie Theatre! This is a theatre camp to explore all types of heroes and character types, and also to explore interests in the folk and fairy-tale tradition. A final performance of scenes and skits will be presented at week's end.

Ages: 6-9
Half-Day: 9 AM-12 PM or 1 PM-4 PM
Dates: June 7-11
Tuition: $185

Students may enroll in any session and may take more than one session. Instruction is differentiated to meet individual student needs.

Puppet Shows

The Country Mouse & the City Mouse starts Saturday, March 20th, and runs through April 10th! Puppet Shows at the Old Michie Theatre are Performed on Saturdays at 11am, 2pm, and 4pm. A wonderful treat for audiences of all ages, our puppet shows are lively interpretations of classic stories. For more info, click here!

2010 Mainstage Shows

Anne of Green Gables starts on Friday, April 30 and runs through Sunday, May 23! Don't miss this classic that will be performed at 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3pm on Sundays, March 7. For more info, click here!

Magic Key Club

The Magic Key Club is a showcase of student talent held every Friday during the summer months at 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Admission is only $1 and all proceeds go to The Old Michie Theatre Scholarship Fund for needy students.
